Spring has sprung!  I love this time of year!  The sun is out, the grass is green, and the flowers are in bloom!  It’s the perfect time to gather with your friends and family to celebrate all of the beauty around us.  Whether you’re getting together for a birthday party, Easter, or just a fun picnic, I’ve got a few tips for planning perfect spring get-togethers!

• Keep it simple and keep your guests in mind.  The backend work of planning a spring soiree might be a little stressful, so keep it simple and stick with what you know.  This probably isn’t the best time to try out a fancy new Pinterest recipe.  Crowd pleasing snacks and appetizers are a must, so poll your guests and see what kinds of foods they like and go from there.  Also consider ordering food from your favorite grocer or deli to keep the prep work to a minimum.  It’s also a thoughtful gesture to consider dietary restrictions of your guests.  I always like to have some Gluten-free and dairy-free foods on hand, just in case.  This is why I almost always have a fruit tray and veggie tray at parties I coordinate.
• Have plenty of cold drinks on hand, especially if you’re planning an outdoor get-together.  I love simply adding lemons or cucumbers to pitchers of ice water for a touch of flavor and beauty.
• Protect your guests from the elements and bugs: Sunscreen is another must to have on hand for outdoor parties.  You also might want to consider citronella candles and bug repellants if you’ll be outdoors in the evening.
• Have a contingency plan if you’re planning an outdoor event.  The weather can be fairly unpredictable, especially in Florida, so it’s always a good idea to have a “Plan B”.  If you’re planning an outdoor party, make sure to have somewhere to take the party in case you need to move the fun indoors.  Perhaps there’s a sheltered area at your local park that you can plan to use, or even break out tents if you have them.

I think food is probably the most important part of any get-together.  I’m a big snacker so I like to have plenty of yummy snacks on hand.  I was pretty excited to hear that Fisher Nuts launched a new first-of-its-kind snack product called Fisher Nut Exactly.  It’s not exactly almonds, not exactly popcorn, and not exactly dark chocolate.  It’s just exactly satisfying with a sweet yet savory taste.

Available exclusively at Costco stores in the Southeast (thankfully this includes me!), this snack contains no artificial ingredients and is created with the perfect combination of crunchy roasted almonds and whole grain popcorn, rolled into a snack-sized bite that’s dipped in rich 66% cacao real dark chocolate.  Salty AND sweet?!  Sounds like a perfect snack to me!  Fisher Nut Exactly was just released on April 6th at Costco stores throughout the Southeast, (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee) and I definitely plan on picking some up!
